Sub-inspector, 36, dies while travelling in bus, heart attack suspected

Prayagraj: A 36-year-old police inspector died supposedly due to a cardiac arrest while he was travelling to Prayagraj from Lucknow by bus late on Friday. The deceased cop, Anurag Sharma , was posted in Lucknow while his family, which was residing in Prayagraj's Khuldabad locality. The incident came to light when the bus reached Prayagraj, but the SI did not get off the bus.

The conductor found his body lifeless and informed police. The SI was rushed to SRN hospital, where the doctors declared him dead. Sharma has left behind his wife and two sons, aged 10 and 8 years.



Prima facie, the cause of death seems to be a heart attack , said ACP Manoj Singh Sharma, who originally hailed from Saharanpur, was of the 2013 batch and was currently posted in the security of the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court. He was the SHO of Prayagraj's Khuldabad police station and was transferred to Lucknow before the Lok Sabha elections. Sources say that the police have started investigating the death from all angles.

The conductor has also been questioned. Apart from this, CCTV cameras installed at bus stations in Lucknow and Prayagraj are being investigated. "Anurag died while coming from Lucknow to Prayagraj.

The body has been kept in SRN Hospital. He was identified through his mobile. The family members have been informed," said ACP Manoj Singh.
