A RECENT study by Samsung Electronics revealed that most Filipinos believe artificial intelligence (AI) boosts creativity and efficiency in communication. The study, which surveyed over 2,600 consumers in Southeast Asia, found that six in 10 Filipinos are inclined to purchase smartphones and home appliances with AI features. The study revealed that Filipino consumers have a generally positive outlook on AI, appreciating its potential to drive innovation and efficiency.
They primarily use AI for writing and language translation. The study said 44 percent of Filipino users utilize AI for writing, while 42 percent use it for language translation. Filipinos use AI for problem-solving and creative tasks.
Thirty-nine percent of Filipino consumers use AI for problem-solving, and many also leverage AI for creative tasks like music composition, graphic design and photography. The study also revealed that Filipinos are drawn to AI features that enhance productivity and creativity, including improved search, AI-assisted photo editing, with tools like removal of unwanted elements and article summarization. These findings put Samsung’s newest smartphone line Galaxy S25 series helpful in catering to Filipinos’ growing interest in AI with its suite of Galaxy AI features designed for both productivity and creativity, according to Jun Guevara, head of Mobile Experience at Samsung Electronics Philippines.
“Samsung’s focus on making AI an ‘Everyday, Everywhere’ experience reinforces our leadership in the AI field and commitment to making AI benefits more accessible to Filipinos,” he said in a statement. Galaxy S25 series is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which offers notable advancements in AI processing, graphics rendering and gaming performance. / KOC.
