Students complete a 26-mile charity challenge inspired by a hit BBC show, raising more than £1,500. Six teams from the University of East Anglia (UEA) recreated the Race Across the World format for a gruelling journey across Norfolk. The adventure, dubbed Race Across Norfolk, saw students travel from UEA to Inspire’s Colville House in Lowestoft.
Starting at 10am on August 28, they had to visit five checkpoints and traverse as many villages as possible, with no phones or cashless payments. Back at Colville House on August 29, blisters and fatigue didn't dampen team spirits as they relished their accomplishments. "We had a vague plan," they said. "Day one we knew we had our legs on us, our fitness and our energy so we decided to do as many towns as possible." Other students' daring exploits included sneaking into Norwich City's Carrow Road football ground for a snap.
The funds raised will aid Inspire’s crucial youth programmes..
