Students in St. Joseph High School’s English honors class have been studying the classic American drama, “Our Town,” written by Thornton Wilder in 1938. It’s been described by some as “the greatest American play ever written.
” It traces the lives of various small town families between 1901 and 1913. The third act, entitled “Death and Eternity,” centers on the death and funeral for one of the play’s main characters. In that connection, some members of the honors class, along with teacher Alicia Yrle, went to a local funeral home to learn how such services are planned.
