Student of madrassa found dead in well

Chennai: A 17-year-old student from Mylapore was found dead in a well on the premises of an Islamic school near Mamallapuram , where he was studying, on Friday. Police are investigating the cause of death. The deceased boy has been identified as 17-year-old Syed from Mylapore.

His father, Abdul Samad , had enrolled him in a madarassa (Islamic school) in Pooncheri, near Mamallapuram. On Friday afternoon, the madarassa management informed Samad that his son was missing. Meanwhile, school staff found his clothes and chappal near a well on the premises and informed the Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services.



TNFRS divers recovered Syed's body from inside the well. The body was sent to the govt hospital in Chengalpet for an autopsy. As the body reached late in the evening, the doctors refused to perform an autopsy on the body.

Meanwhile, members of the TN Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam staged a protest. A case has been registered and futher investigation is on..
