ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. — A program that’s had success in the Southern Tier giving high school students a hands-on experience in the manufacturing world is coming to Erie and Niagara counties.
The Dream It Do It program, created in 2009 in Chautauqua County, will give middle and high school students in Buffalo Niagara real manufacturing skills and projects, as well as connecting them with potential manufacturing employers in the region. “One of the things we do is get students into manufacturing facilities, so they can see the wide variety of manufacturing careers and the innovation and technology and skills that go into making products,” said Todd Tranum, president and CEO of Dream It Do It Western New York.
