Tasha Ghouri has shared her thoughts on Strictly Come Dancing winners Chris McCausland and his dance partner Dianne Buswell . On Saturday, eight million people tuned in to see the blind comedian battle Tasha and her partner Aljaž Škorjanec , JLS singerJB Gill and Miranda actress Sarah Hadland for the coveted Glitterball trophy. Ultimately, Chris and Dianne reigned supreme - and Tasha, 26, has wished them all the best.
The Love Island star shared a series of Instagram posts reflecting on her time on the BBC 1 dancing competition, including snapshots from the dance floor, behind-the-scenes moments with the Strictly team, and a heartwarming photo with her boyfriend, Andrew Le Page . Speaking about the 2024 champions, she wrote: "I have to say @chrismccauslandcomedy you deserve to lift that trophy so much, since day one you have shown you are unstoppable, your partnership with @diannebuswell has just been a joy, Dianne what a woman you are, you both are winners! @jbgill @laurenmayoakley @hadderstime @vitocoppola I’m so proud of you all what an incredible final of people to be a part of." Ahead of Saturday's finale, Tasha told the Mirror that the show had "given back her spark".
She said: “I’m quite shy and introverted, I found so much more confidence in myself. As a woman I feel stronger, so much more independent, I feel I can leave this experience knowing who Tasha is even more.” She also added that she had been inundated with messages from the deaf community who had been inspired seeing her on the show.
“The amount of messages I've had from younger women and children saying they felt represented because they’ve seen me on TV. That’s the power of representation and with Chris as well, I feel that it’s been such a special year to be a part of.” As part of her Instagram photo dump, she paid tribute to the other people who had been integral to her journey on the show, including her partner and family.
Her appearance on the programme comes years after admitting it had been a childhood dream to take part . Tasha mused: "Strictly after 13 weeks thank you..
when I say doing this show has just been so magical I can’t even put it into words & surprising me with my brother flying in from Australia !!! This was extra special having him there watching the final, thank you so much @iamtheo for making this happen." Reflecting on her delightful experience, Tasha shared heartfelt words for her dance partner, writing: "@aljazskorjanec you made magical beautiful dances that’ll be remembered for a long time from our American smooth, waltz, show dance and many more. Everyday we laughed & smiled, you are what strictly is about - your passion and positivity radiates from within on this show.
I can’t thank you enough from the bottom of my heart, you made my experience so magical. And we made history!!! What a moment." Follow Mirror Celebs on TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , YouTube and Threads .
