Pete Wicks is enjoying incredible on-screen chemistry on Strictly with Jowita - but could that be translating into real life love? According to reports, the former The Only Way Is Essex star has fallen "head over heels" for his partner - and their rumoured romance is said to be an "open secret". It's been claimed that there's no one from the cast and crew who isn't aware of the development. Last night, the pair had a successful performance together dancing the samba to the George of the Jungle theme tune - and they were awarded 26 points.
However, for some, it's what is - or isn't - going on behind the scenes that has captured their attention. Pete confessed, that like his character, he loves the samba - but he "absolutely hates" the film. Meanwhile, in real life, he and Jowita, who was previously linked romantically to Giovanni Pernice , are said to be "all over each other".
A source claimed to Mail on Sunday : "Pete has fallen head over heels for Jowita. He thinks she is amazing in every way. The feeling is mutual from her side and things have definitely progressed between them.
"They are all over one another behind the scenes, in a way that a loved-up couple would be." The source continued: "It appears that we may have the first Strictly romance of the series, which is so exciting. They are the talk of the show.
" They added that the other contestants have been "really happy" to see the happy couple "smiling" endlessly. "It will certainly brighten up the show following the dreadful saga around Giovanni [Pernice] and Amanda Abbington. " This weekend, Amanda dropped the bombshell that the real reason she quit Strictly was her fear over two lumps she found in her breast.
Both turned out to be benign, but she was concerned at the time that they may have been cancerous. She claimed that she felt "relieved" when the temporary health crisis helped her to remove herself from a "toxic" working environment. Meanwhile, viewers will find out Pete and Jowita's destiny on the show - after he accidentally tripped her up mid-performance - when the week three results come in this evening.
