Stranger Things Season 5 is getting closer and closer. This week, we already received the episode titles for the new season, but what else can we actually expect from the series on Netflix? What can we expect from this closing chapter? One of the actors from the series, Maya Hawke, has already hinted that we can expect a spectacular finale. “We’re basically making eight movies,” Hawke said on the podcast Podcrushed . “The episodes are very long.
” In the last season, there was some initial criticism from viewers regarding the lengthy episodes. However, this criticism quickly faded as the extended run time contributed to the quality of the series. The series has been running for almost ten years now, initially focusing on kids going to school in the town of Hawkins, while strange things happened in the background.
Of course, those kids now look a bit too old to play schoolchildren, but Netflix has a solution for that. Season 5 is set in the fall of 1987, over a year after the events of Season 4. This time jump is partly due to the aging of the young cast members and opens new possibilities for the story within the Hawkins universe.
Netflix has revealed the titles of the eight episodes, starting with " The Crawl " and ending with " The Rightside Up ." The other episodes are titled: " The Vanishing of ___ ," " The Turnbow Trap ," " Sorcerer ," " Shock Jock ," " Escape From Camazotz ," and " The Bridge ." The Cast The core cast returns, including Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike), and David Harbour (Hopper).
Additionally, Season 5 welcomes new faces such as Linda Hamilton, known from The Terminator. Other new stars in the season include Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, and Alex Breaux. Production for Season 5 began in 2023 but faced delays, like many other series, due to strikes in Hollywood.
Nonetheless, the release is still planned for 2025. The Duffer Brothers, the creators of the series, promise an emotional and satisfying ending that won’t disappoint fans. The Duffer Brothers are also working on other projects for Netflix, so if you want more from the duo after Stranger Things, they’re developing a new horror series for the platform.
Season 4 of Stranger Things was split into different storylines set in locations such as California, Russia, and Hawkins. The storylines converge as the group in Hawkins formulates a plan to defeat the main villain, Vecna. Max acts as bait to distract Vecna while the others attempt to take him down.
Despite their efforts, Vecna manages to open four gates to the Upside Down, leading to devastation in Hawkins. Max is severely injured and falls into a coma. The season ends with the group preparing for a final showdown with Vecna, as the boundary between the real world and the Upside Down fades.
