Storm Bert: No let up as Status Orange and Yellow wind warnings issued for West

Met Éireann has said, even where no warnings are in place, it’s going to be a windy day.

FRESH WEATHER WARNINGS have been issued by Met Éireann as Storm Bert rages on. Status Orange wind warnings are in place for Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo. They’ll remain in place from 8am today until 2am on Monday.

Meanwhile, Status Yellow wid warnings will be in place until 7pm this evening in Clare, Kerry and Galway. Donegal will have a Status Yellow wind warning over it until 8am on Monday. Met Éireann has said, even where no warnings are in place, it’s going to be a windy day.



The ESB is still restoring power to homes affected by Storm Bert. Of the 60,000 premises impacted as of yesterday, just a few thousand remain without power. Cleanup operations are resuming this morning after the weekend’s severe flooding.

The areas worst affected were Killybegs, Co Donegal and Listowel, Co Kerry. In Cork, the Council has closed Fermoy Bridge due to rising river levels. They’ve deemed it unsafe for drivers and pedestrians.
