Stokes belatedly gets presented with special cap for completing 100 Tests

Listen to Story England captain Ben Stokes was presented a special silver cap by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for completing 100 Tests ahead of the play on Day 2 of the ongoing first Test against West Indies. Notably, Stokes earlier completed his 100 Tests against India during the third Test of the five-match series in Rajkot. However, the 33-year-old didn’t have a memorable game as he scored 41 and 15 in two innings.

England lost the match by a massive margin of 434 runs and got 1-2 behind in the series . Three games later, Stokes has been finally felicitated by the ECB for his achievement as he got presented a special silver cap. The England captain became the 18 th player to achieve the feat from his country.

The England skipper was undone by the left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie who thrashed his stumps with a vicious turner. The Christchurch-born all rounder has played 103 Tests in his career so far having scored 6320 runs at an average of 35.30 and a strike rate of 58.
