Stocks Market Today: The Sensex and NIfty surged to new highs on Thursday buoyed by the US Federal Reserve's decision to cut the policy rate by 50 bps. New Delhi: The Sensex on Thursday surged to a new high of 83,590.91, up 642.

68 points, or 0.77 per cent, while the Nifty rose to 25,567.90, up 190.



35 points, or 0.75 per cent after the US Federal Reserve slashed its policy rate by 50 basis points to 4.75-6 per cent.
