Updated: September 20, 2024 9:23 AM IST By Edited by Star Australian cricketer Steve Smith believes that India’s batting superstar Virat Kohli might be the winner of a 100-metre sprint featuring him, Kohli, Pakistan’s Babar Azam and New Zealand’s Kane Williamson. As per Smith, the former India skipper’s fitness will benefit him in the race.

The former Australia skipper revealed this observation during a Q & A session on ESPNcricinfo. The queries included his favourite cricketing venue in India, a current batter he loves to watch and many more. When asked about who will win a 100m sprint among him, Virat Kohli, Babar Azam and Kane Williamson.



Smith without any hesitation took Virat’s name. “Probably Virat. He’s a fit guy, so I would go with Virat,” Smith answered.

Both the stars were in action on the cricket ground on Thursday, September 19. Kohli got out on six runs in the first innings of the 1st Test against Bangladesh in Chennai. Smith lost his wicket for 32 off 28 deliveries in the first ODI against England in Nottingham.

Smith stands at 31 on the list of batters with most international runs. He played 335 matches and scored 16,257 runs at an average of 47.95 with 44 hundreds and 79 half-centuries.

When it comes to Kohli, he is at No.4 on with 26,948 runs at an average of 53.25, consisting 80 tons and 140 fifties in 534 matches.
