Stephen A. Smith Under Fire After Naming NFL's New No. 1 Team

There's a new No. 1 team in the NFL according to Stephen A.

After two weeks of play, the NFL standings feature a few unsuspected teams sitting at 2-0 and a few perennial contenders, such as the Baltimore Ravens, left without a win. The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs defeated one of those contenders — the Cincinnati Bengals — in Week 2 to keep Joe Burrow and company out of the win column in 2024. However, it wasn't enough for Stephen A.

Smith to consider them the NFL's No. 1 team right now. On Tuesday's September 17 episode of "First Take," Smith offered up his top five NFL power rankings heading into Week 3, and there was a new team atop his list.



Here is how he broke it down: No. 1: Buffalo Bills No. 2: Kansas City Chiefs No.

3: New Orleans Saints No. 4: Los Angeles Chargers No. 5: Tampa Bay Buccaneers "Did you see Josh Allen?" Smith began, reminding the audience that his list remains "fluid" by week.

"Josh Allen came near South Beach and just ruined everybody's evening. ..

"Im a Bills fan and this is sus," another added . "Lmfao bro should stick to basketball talk," remarked another. Buffalo, currently sitting atop the AFC East division at 2-0, has a tough stretch of quarterbacks over the next quarter of their schedule.

The Bills host Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3. They'll follow it up with three straight road games against the Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans and New York Jets. Related: Stephen A.
