Stephen A Smith has questioned Ryan Garcia 's motives in boxing, with the now-banned fighter recently calling out Gervonta Davis despite his drugs ban. Garcia shocked the world when he defeated Devin Haney earlier this year in a truly impressive performance, knocking the undefeated star to the canvas three times on the way to a majority decision win. But just weeks after, it was revealed that Garcia had failed his drugs test - showing to be positive for the PED Ostarine with the bout being overturned to a new contest.

Garcia also missed weight ahead of the fight, coming in 3lbs over the limit before going on to beat Haney, with it now being overturned. Garcia was eventually handed a one-year ban from the sport after testing positive. Garcia was seen at Davis' recent win over Frank Martin, asking for a rematch with the star who defeated him in 2023 - something that had angered Smith.

Speaking on his Stephen A. Smith show, he said: "Maybe if you follow the rules and regulations, and you went and beat Devin Haney for the title..

. and you weren't acting all crazy, maybe we would be in the midst of a rematch with Gervonta Davis. "It was a really good body shot to the liver that took you out and that could happen to anybody.

It wasn't like he beat you up. It wasn't like he slapped you around like he did Frank Martin..

. But all if this stuff you're doing, Ryan Garcia, it makes no sense. And now you can't fight in New York .
