The Steelers hosted four 2025 NFL Draft prospects, WR Matthew Golden, CB Azareye'h Thomas, RB Kaleb Johnson, and TE Gavin Bartholomew, for a visit.

Thursday was definitely a busy day for the Pittsburgh Steelers, as ESPN's Brooke Pryor reported that the Steel City hosted four standout draft prospects for pre-draft visits—Texas WR Matthew Golden, Florida State CB Azareye'h Thomas, Iowa RB Kaleb Johnson, and Pitt TE Gavin Bartholomew. The Steelers doing their homework on wide receivers, cornerbacks, and running backs makes sense, as those are arguably three of the five weakest positions on the team. However, Bartholomew's visit is an interesting—and smart—decision.

Golden, Thomas, and Johnson's visits count against the top 30 pre-draft visits that the Steelers are permitted to have, but Bartholomew’s does not, as the Pitt Panther tight end is considered a local prospect.Johnson and Thomas put up fantastic numbers at the RB and CB positions, respectively, in 2024. The Iowa Hawkeye RB rushed for over 1,500 yards and totaled 23 touchdowns last season, while the Florida State cornerback allowed zero touchdowns all year in pass defense.

Golden's collegiate production doesn't jump off the screen, but he has all the tools to be one of the best receivers from this year’s draft class—highlighted by his 4.29 speed displayed at the NFL Scouting Combine.Bartholomew, who boasts great hands and a willingness to block, is likely to go undrafted in 2025, while the visiting prospects—Golden, Johnson, and Thomas—will almost certainly go between rounds one and two.
