Friday wraps up the week with a mild day for much of the region. Winds remain light out of the east for much of the day out of the east. A few areas south of Duluth will look to get up into the upper 50s with a few low 60s.

Across the Arrowhead, temperatures remain cooler with highs in the upper 40s and low 50s. Friday night rain develops across central Minnesota and then slides to the northeast as a system moves through the northern Midwest. For most, the bulk of the rain will come overnight, with a chance for an isolated rumble of thunder, but that will give way to off and on light rain by Saturday morning.

ADVERTISEMENT On Saturday, off-and-on showers continue as winds pick up. By Saturday afternoon, as the showers become spottier, winds swing to out of the northwest with sustained winds of 15-25 mph and some stronger gusts. Saturday night, winds will still be whipping in, but rain will have moved out.

Temperatures then drop to the teens overnight and much of the region will be cooler, in the 30s, for Sunday..
