We look to start December with another day where the northwest wind will continue to blow through the region and keep some spots chilly. For most, we see highs escaping the teens, but across north-central Minnesota, areas from Grand Rapids up to Ely may have close calls as clouds move in during the day. Tonight, we have more clouds moving on into the region once again, and that will keep the lows in the mid-teens for much of the Northland.
That warmer starting point, along with a wind shift to out of the southwest and a little sun, will help afternoon highs stay in the mid-20s for most by Monday. ADVERTISEMENT However, as we then head through the rest of the week, we are keeping an eye on another system moving through. By Tuesday afternoon, we have the chance for flurries and light snow for much of the region, and that chance for a few flurries looks to persist on Wednesday as well.
After the snow moves out, we then are tracking temperatures snapping back into the teens to wrap up the week..
