Startup man ‘scams’ lender, ‘drugs & films’ his daughter

Ludhiana: A local man who borrowed Rs 50 lakh from an acquaintance to start a software company has been accused of threatening to release explicit videos of the lender ’s daughter after drugging her. The man from Shingar Road near Samrala Chowk has been charged with assault, cheating, and criminal intimidation under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) after a complaint was filed by the 21-year-old woman. Police said this man had taken the money, along with valuables such as laptops and a television, from the woman's father, promising to open a software development company and involve his daughter in the business.

After accepting the money, the man did not share any profits with the lender, and when asked to return the money and rest of the items, he allegedly threatened to release the woman’s nude pictures, which he had taken after drugging her. The complainant went to police and a case was registered. The investigating officer, assistant sub-inspector Malkit Singh, said Bhatia was on the run but a hunt for him was on.

The assault took place while Husain was parking his car near his shop. Police have registered a case and are probing the incident.

Man detained for sex assault on minor daughters An 18-year-old girl informed an NGO that she and her sister were sexually assaulted by their father when they were minors. The revelation was made at a government shelter where she was placed after another assault in 2016. Following this, the Child Welfare Committee directed police to track down and detain the father.
