Star Wars Movie Loses Release Date By has removed an untitled movie from its release date calendar. Disney and previously planned on releasing an untitled Star Wars film on December 18, 2026; however, Disney has now removed the movie from its release date calendar, meaning no new release date has been set. Whether or not that means the film is canceled or will be rescheduled to a later date remains unclear at this time.

There have been several Star Wars movies that have been announced over the past couple of years that this could be, though nothing has been confirmed at this time. It was previously announced that would star in a solo Rey movie, which screenwriter Steven Knight departed from last month. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy remains attached to direct that movie at this time, which would be her feature debut.



Following reports that Simon Kinberg was writing a new Star Wars trilogy that could potentially include Ridley’s Rey, it became unclear whether or not Obaid-Chinoy’s movie was still moving forward. What Star Wars movie comes out next? The only forthcoming Star Wars movie that has a definitive release date at this time is . That’s scheduled to hit theaters on May 22, 2026.

Not much is known about the plot at this time. Pedro Pascal will reprise his role from The Mandalorian as Din Djarin in the film, while Grogu and Zeb Orrelios are also slated to appear. Sigourney Weaver, known for her work in another popular sci-fi franchise Alien, has additionally been cast in a mystery role.

While it may be a bit before we get another Star Wars adventure that plays in theaters, a new television series set in a galaxy far, far away premieres on Disney+ this December. The show, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, is created by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford and stars Jude Law, Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kerry Condon, and more. Additionally, Andor Season 2 will premiere on Disney+ on April 22, 2025.
