What else were you expecting from toxic outlets?

YouTuber and Right Wing propaganda buster, Dhruv Rathee’s latest video on India’s toxic work culture opened a can of worms for Zee Media House, which has been at the forefront of instigating communal disharmony along with a slew of other ‘godi media’ channels. If the content of a channel is toxic, ergo the management too could possibly be (toxic). But these are not our words.

In a now-redacted comment, a disgruntled Wion staff shared their ordeal of a similar toxic work culture as the ones explained on the video. The comment, however, was not from the personal, but rather the company’s official YouTube ID! All the buzz and social media chatter on toxic work culture erupted after the heart-rending letter of the mom of the young EY employee who died by cardiac arrest owing to work-related stress. This comes in wake of jingoistic industrialists and start-up founders like Infosys’ Naryana Murthy and Ola’s Bhavish Aggarwal, among others, who are proponents of 70-hour work week, even to the extent of dubbing weekends a ‘western concept.

’ Wion News is a vertical of Zee Media Group. The comment from the ID as shown in the screenshot shows over a thousand likes. Netizens are worried about the employee’s job even though there has been no official refutation of the comment.

The Internet also dug up an older Wion News video on the toxic work culture crippling India Inc. Itna jyada sach, wo bhi official account se. WION mein kisi ki naukri jane wali hai.
