(Photo credits: Svenja Grust)Tobias Wolff has been named the new General Manager of the Staatstheater Braunschweig.He will begin his new position in the summer of 2026.The decision was announced on April 8, 2025 by the administrative committee of the theater.
In a statement, Tobias Wolff said, “I am very much looking forward to the new task at the Staatstheater Braunschweig – a house rich in tradition with diverse artistic possibilities, wonderful playgrounds and a dedicated team. My sincere thanks go to the minister Falko Mohrs and the members of the administrative committee for their trust and to the general manager Dagmar Schlingmann, who hands over the theater in the best form. Together with the artists and employees, I would like to further develop the diversity of theater in all spheres and to approach the artistic and social challenges of the coming years with curiosity and vigor.
I am also particularly looking forward to meeting many familiar companions from my Lower Saxony networks.”Wolff gained his initial professional job experience at the International Beethoven Festival in Bonn and the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and joined the Theater Altenburg-Gera as Chief Dramaturg and Marketing Manager. He was the artistic director of Leipzig Opera House.
