A restaurant boss and mum is letting children eat for free in her diner next week because she knows the struggle of trying to feed your kids in the school holidays and keep them entertained. The offer differs from many others because the parent or parents do NOT need to buy anything to get the free kids' grub. Natalie Trueman, who has five children of her own, is offering parents the chance to feed their kids for nothing in the October half-term, with absolutely no catch.

You won't even need to pay to have an adult meal to qualify. The 45-year-old opened Rocky's, a western American-style diner, in town centre, at the beginning of the year. Also the owner of the café in Par Market, she said: "I know first hand how tough it can be to make ends meet, especially during school holidays.

Finding things to do with your kids while managing costs can be a real challenge." In an emotive message offering families a lifeline, she said: "After the amazing response to our previous offer of 'free kids meals with any adult meal,' I’m excited to take it even further and announce something different: Kids eat for free, no adult meal required." The offer is available throughout half term to all children aged 12 and under.

They will have the choice of five different meals on a special set menu put together for the half term, including hotdogs, pizza, and jacket potatoes. "I understand the pressures many parents are facing with the current economic pinch, and I hope this small gesture will help ease the burden," she said of the gesture. "Family means everything to me, and I know it’s the same for many of you.

"We all want to spend quality time with our kids without worrying about the cost, and this is my way of giving back to the community that’s supported Rocky’s so much during our first year of business. So bring your little ones in, let them enjoy a meal for free from our set menu, and know that Rocky’s is here to help make family time a little more affordable." The only day not included in this offer is October 31 when the restaurant is hosting a children’s Halloween event.

"From my family to yours, thank you for being part of our Rocky’s family," Natalie adds. Rocky's, which at White River Place, serves up a huge menu of steaks, burgers, ribs, nachos and more. Rocky's is open daily from 4 to 10pm.

It also opens from 10am to 2pm on Thursdays and Fridays and from 10am-10 pm on Saturdays. On Sundays, it opens from 11am to 4pm. Reservations are highly recommended.
