SSP sets up SIT as locals protest over youth’s death

Excelsior CorrespondentRAJOURI, Apr 13: A massive protest was held at Thanamang village of Darhal over the tragic and mysterious death of 22-year-old Sheraz Ahmed, son of Zulfiqar Ali, a resident of Thanamang, Darhal.Follow the Daily Excelsior channel on WhatsAppSheraz, the elder son of his parents, was reportedly found dead under suspicious circumstances, sparking anger and grief among the local populace.The locals gathered in large number, demanding a fair and transparent probe into the incident and strict action against those responsible.

Emotions ran high during the protest, with family members and community leaders voicing concerns over the circumstances surrounding the youth’s death.Addressing the gathering, DDC Member Darhal, Mohd Iqbal Malik, expressed deep sorrow over the untimely demise of Sheraz Ahmed. “This heartbreaking loss has shocked the entire community.



We demand that the truth behind this death be uncovered at the earliest. Those responsible must be brought to justice,” Malik stated.He further urged the police and civil administration to act swiftly and ensure justice is delivered to the bereaved family.

Responding to the public outcry, SSP Rajouri, Gaurav Sikarwar took prompt action by constituting a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter thoroughly. SSP Sikarwar assured that no stone will be left unturned in the investigation and anyone found involved in the incident will not be spared. “We are committed to ensuring a fair, transparent and speedy investigation.
