Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Oct 18: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Joginder Singh convened a high-level crime review meeting at the office of SDPO Akhnoor. The meeting, attended by senior officers including SP Rural Jammu, SDPO Akhnoor, SHOs of Police Stations Akhnoor, Khour, Gharota, and other key personnel, was aimed at assessing the law and order situation and strengthening security measures in the region. The meeting began with a congratulatory note from the SSP to all officers and jawans for the successful and incident-free conclusion of the Assembly elections.

The focus then shifted to the review of ongoing investigations into cases related to the NDPS Act, Excise, bovine smuggling, and crimes against women and children. Detailed discussions were held on the timely closure of these investigations, with an emphasis on improving the quality of probes. SSP Jammu stressed the need for adopting advanced techniques and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance investigative outcomes.



He also highlighted the importance of beat patrolling, maintaining accurate beat book records, and regular surveillance of habitual offenders. SHOs were directed to ensure vigilant monitoring of known anti-social elements. Further, the SSP called for heightened vigilance in vulnerable areas, strengthening checkpoints, and enhancing intelligence gathering to thwart any nefarious activities by anti-national elements.

Officers were also urged to lead in conducting area domination exercises to maintain law and order. Following the crime review meeting, SSP Jammu conducted a Darbar for the officers and jawans, listening to their grievances and assuring quick redressal. He concluded the session by emphasizing the need for integrity and commitment in serving the public, reaffirming the importance of delivering the highest standards of policing.
