SSC examinee dies from electric shock in Jashore

An electrical short circuit struck his left hand, causing severe injuries

A 16-year-old SSC examinee died from electric shock resulting from an electrical short circuit in Chaugachha upazila of Jashore this afternoon. The deceased, identified as Rana Hossain, was the son of Shamim Hossain of Dighalsingha village of the upazila, said Payel Hossain Chowdhury, officer-in-charge of Chaugachha Police Station. The police official confirmed that Rana was electrocuted.

According to Rana's uncle, Iqbal Hossain, the incident occurred around 3:30pm when Rana was connecting electrical wires at their house. An electrical short circuit struck his left hand, causing severe injuries, he said. Family members rushed him to the Chaugachha Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor declared him dead upon arrival.



The police have recorded the incident as an unnatural death, the OC added.
