While some said Head was in the wrong to not accept the simple requests, others felt that the fans should have let it be at once and that the cricketer wasn’t obligated to fulfill them. Head is an extremely popular figure in India, thanks to his history of performing the Men in Blue and his role in revolutionizing the SRH side with big-hitting at the top of the order.
Recently, in an exclusive interview with News18 CricketNext he spoke about the polarising perception fans in India have of him, “It’s funny," he said. " respect the fact that India is such a big country with such a big following. I’ve been very fortunate to play well in a couple of games.
I guess I just play it off in a jovial way. Some of the stuff that comes out, I find quite funny," the left-hander added. “It doesn’t spur me on any more than usual.
I just go out and try to enjoy myself and play well...
. Coming to Hyderabad was hugely important to me," Head reflects. “It was something I had on my radar.
I had a taste of the IPL a few years ago, but to be back here and play well—it’s nice to get some fans on my side after some of the performances," the Australian said. SRH are currently last in the IPL 2025 points table with just one win from five matches..
