Squid Game actor Lee Jung-jae has addressed the surprise conclusion of season 2. In the season 2, the actor, who plays Seong Gi-hun in the show, is shattered once again after losing his closest ally, Jung-bae, during the deadly competition. While talking about the ending and The Front Man (Oh Young-il)’s reality, Lee in an interview with Netflix’s Tudum , said, “I don’t think Gi-hun knows the truth.
” He also argued that the protagonist of the story is unable to notice the switch from Young-il as he’s enraged, blaming himself for everything that happened, including the death of Jung-bae. The 52-year-old actor also talked about how much pain his character can endure in the series. “Would that determination he had in the beginning still be intact?”, Lee said, adding, “Would he still have that feeling inside of him? Because now his best friend is dead.
” Hwang Dong-hyuk, the series creator also joined the actor, insisting, “Audiences are definitely going to be shocked and very sad to see Jung-bae go.” While Squid Game season 3 release date has not been revealed by the creators yet, the director told Variety that it will be coming “soon” in 2025..
