The biggest show of Netflix for the last couple of years, Squid Game finally returned with a season 2. However, the show has received mixed reviews from fans and critics due to the platform's new strategy to split the season in two parts. Season 2 also ended with a cliffhanger that has left fans disappointed about having to wait a couple of months to see the conclusion to the story.
The makers are yet to confirm the release date of Part 2, and Seong Gi-hun's fate is handing in the balance. The new doll in the post credit scene has also left fans worried for the contestants. A post shared by Squid Game (@squidgamenetflix) The show returned Seong Gi-hun to the games in an attempt to stop them from taking place.
While early in the episode Seong Gi-hun tried his best to find the organizers from the outside, his plans continued to fail. His second attempt to find the play by putting him in danger also failed as the tracking device in his tooth was discarded before Seong Gi-hun entered the games. The third attempt to convivence people to leave also ended more bloodshed and the final attempt was to stage a rebellion and the last episode did not show any mercy.
Apart from Seong Gi-hun, even The front man of the games had returned to playing as contestant number 001. He planned on working with Seong Gi-hun and his team to gain their trust and he used it against him in the last episode of season 7. The front man brutally murdered Seong Gi-hun's best friend in front of him to punish them for their rebellion plan.

And when you think about Gi-hun’s journey, I thought that that was an adequate moment to put a stop and give him a little bit of closure along that long story arc. And then from that moment on, in the third season, having that sense of huge guilt and sense of failure weighing heavily on him — how is Gi-hun going to carry on his mission? That’s the story that’ll further unfold.
" The death will turn out to be more gruesome for Seong Gi-hun, as he is will eventually find out 001 is The Front Man and he also betrayed him and killed his best friend. We as audience already are aware that of The Front Man’s true identity. In season one it was revealed that In-ho is a previous winner of the Squid Game who now works as the head guard.
On the other hand, Gong Yoo's character The Salesman also had a similar past where he too won the games and directed to return to work for them. He said, “If you watched the hidden clip after the credits in Season 2, it’s going to give you a hint of where Season 3 might lead. That’s all I can say for now.” The post credit scene or mid credit scene as some have called it on social media, shows the return of the iconic red light/green light game doll.
