Squatters in Southern California have reportedly "taken over" a massive mansion owned by an MLB owner's son. An abandoned Los Angeles mansion belonging to the son of the Philadelphia Phillies owner John S. Middleton has been taken over by squatters.

The once-stunning mansion is now covered in graffiti. Those who live next to the home are now beginning to fear for their safety as more and more squatters take over the property. The home, located at 7571 Mulholland Drive in the Hollywood Hills, is owned by John Powers Middleton.

ABC 6. According to ABC 6, neighbors have described the situation as a "headache and safety hazard." The squatters have been coming and going for two years, according to reports.

9-1-1 has reportedly been called "several times." "Every time we call, the police will come and they'll clear it out, and then within an hour or two, five more people are there and staying the night," one neighbor said. "Apparently, some squatters came and actually attacked one of the neighbors with steel rebar and beer bottle.

" The Phillies have confirmed that the home belongs to their owner's son. "The California properties are owned by John Powers Middleton. No other members of the family have ownership, investment, control or involvement in these properties," the Phillies said in a statement.
