Sports Round-Up: Hallsville's Whatley gets 200th win

At the dish, Hope Miles tripled, doubled, singled and scored twice. Ella Baird and Dubberly both had two singles and an RBI, and Libby Ford chipped in with a double. Hallsville Baseball The Lufkin Panthers scored twice in the bottom of the first and added a pair of one-run innings on the way to a 4-1 District 10-5A win over the Hallsville Bobcats.



Kaden Akin struck out two and walked three in four innings for Hallsville. Preston Thomas fanned two and walked one in two frames. Dunn Smith doubled, singled and drove in the lone Hallsville run.

Cade Stuckey added a double. Saturday : The Hallsville Bobcats completed a dominant weekend with a 14-0 shutout of Jacksonville on Saturday. On Friday, the Bobcats rolled to a 10-2 win over Marshall in Marshall.

Against Jacksonville, Carter Hatchel and Mark Jenkins combined on the one-hit shutout on the mound. Hatchel pitched three innings, striking out three with no walks and one hit allowed. Jenkins walked one in two scoreless innings.

Trentan Johnson and Dunn Smith had three hits apiece and both drove in three runs for Hallsville. Johnson tripled, doubled and singled and Smith had a double and two singles. Cade Stuckey doubled, singled and drove in two runs.

Hawk Haynes had a double and an RBI, and Landon Vineyard, Ranson Smith, Tyler Durrett and Kade Chappell all drove in runs. On Friday against Marshall, Preston Thomas struck out four, walked one and gave up no runs on two hits in five innings pitched for Hallsville. Case Haney went 1.

2 innings on the hill, striking out one and walking one, and Peyton Winner went a third of an inning. Durrett homered, doubled and drove in two runs and Stuckey added a double, single and two RBI for the Bobcats. Dunn Smith also went deep for Hallsville, and Haynes and Kade Chappell had two hits apiece.

Chappell and Ranson Smith chipped in with RBI. Marshall Softball Kaylin Brannon homered, doubled, singled and drove in two runs, Kammie Terrell was solid at the plate and in the circle and the Mount Pleasant Lady Tigers notched an 8-4 District 10-5A win over Marshall. Azlyn Fluellen added a triple and an RBI for Mount Pleasant, and Kamryn Mines doubled.

Terrell finished with a double, single and two RBI to go along with 10 strikeouts and three walks in seven innings pitched. Karleigh Robinson tripled, singled twice and drove in two runs in the loss for Marshall. Addi Watkins singled twice and added an RBI, and Bri Theus chipped in with an RBI.

Jefferson Softball Makylie Harrison homered, and six Lady Tigers drove in runs as Daingerfield notched a 6-4 District 13-3A win over Jefferson. Rachael Walker had two singles and an RBI. Kaidence Mason doubled twice.

Khloe Stroman and Cailyn Lee doubled, singled and drove in runs, and Reyna Spraglin and Jaycee Satterfield chipped in with RBI. Stroman went the distance in the circle, striking out two with no walks and one earned run allowed. Madison Clark struck out six with no walks and two earned runs allowed in the pitching loss for Jefferson.

Amarriunna Amie homered for Jefferson. Jayden Jenkins singled three times. Karly Long added two hits and an RBI, and Maddie Cooner tripled and drove in a run.

Friday : Addysyn Billings struck out 15, walked three and held Jefferson hitless in a seven-inning outing as the Hughes Springs Lady Mustangs rolled to a 10-0 win. Billings also doubled, singled and drove in three runs for Hughes Springs. Tessa Dannelley homered, singled and drove in three runs, and Kadi Daniels had a single and three RBI.

Annie Stonesifer chipped in with a double and a single, and Madilyn Derrick singled twice. Elysian Fields Baseball Brody Parker singled three times and drove in three runs to lead the offense, and the Elysian Fields Yellowjacksts notched a 9-5 win over Carlisle. John Beavers added two hits for the Yellowjackets.

Evan White doubled and drove in a run, and Cole Parker, Nunu Kennedy, Garrett Roos and Spencer Scott all drove in runs. Parker struck out five and walked nine, giving up two earned runs in 3.2 innings for EF.

Beavers fanned four with one walk and no runs allowed in 2.1 innings, and Kennedy walked three and gave up one earned run in an inning of action. Elysian Fields Softball Kaylen Commander drove in four runs with a couple of doubles and a single, and the Elysian Fields Lady Yellowjackets rolled to a 15-5 win over Carlisle.

Madison Owens tripled, doubled and singled, driving in three runs, and Kaleigh Merritt had a double, single and three RBI. Abagail Hooten singled twice and drove in a run, and Taylor Youngblood singled and plated one run. Layla Adkins struck out four, walked four and gave up one earned run in 4.
