Barnes earns IBCA award: Valparaiso junior and Times Player of the Year Lillian Barnes is wasting no time leaving her mark on the 2024-25 season. The Vikings guard was named the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association District 1 Player of the Week on Tuesday. Barnes tallied 32 points, six rebounds, seven assists and five steals in Valpo's loss to state power South Bend Washington.
She followed it with a 26-point, five-rebound, four-assist, five-steal performance in the Vikings' win over Bishop Noll on Saturday.
