A village committee is over the moon to have received thousands of pounds of funding to complete renovations at a local sports and events hall. The National Lottery has forked over £16,000 to the Brundall Memorial Hall's governing group so they can finish work on the community space which was started last year. The first phase was to "majorly improve" indoor facilities to make the hall more accessible and user-friendly.

As well as the National Lottery's investment, £9,000 has also been awarded to the scheme as part of the Broadland District Council Community Grant Scheme. Brundall Memorial Hall was built in 1948 to honour those from the village who fought and died in the Second World War. At first it comprised only a wooden hut but this was replaced in 1971 by a sports hall.
