'Speeding, obstructing police, court orders': Five cases heard by magistrates

Breath specimen A man was banned from driving after failing to provide a breath specimen. Leigh Ryan, 37, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court that he had failed to provide a specimen for analysis after driving in Bolton.

This was on March 9 last year. Ryan, of Hillfield Drive, Bolton was banned from driving for 12 months with a reduction period of three months. He was also fined £162 and ordered to pay costs of £200 with a surcharge of £62.



Speeding A man was ordered to pay up after speeding. Keshav Keshav, 31, was proved by single justice procedure to have driven a BMW on the M60 clockwise from Junction 18 to Junction 24 at more than 70 miles per hour. This was over the speed limit on that stretch of motorway.

Keshav, of Willow Close, Bolton was disqualified from holding a driving licence for 35 days and ordered to pay a total of £341. Obstructing police officer A man was fined after obstructing a police officer and driving without a licence or insurance. Nolan Kamali, 27, admitted to Manchester Magistrates Cout that he had driven an Audi A4 on Chorley Old Road, Bolton, without a proper licence or insurance on October 27 2022.

That same day he had obstructed a police officer in the lawful execution of their duty. Kamali, of Mora Avenue, Oldham was fined £400 and ordered to pay costs of £85 with a surcharge of £160. Community order A man was fined after breaching his community order.

Lyndon Adamson, 27, admitted to Manchester Magistrates Court that he had failed to attend a building better relationships programme appointment on November 10, 2024. He also failed to attend an appointment at Bolton Probation Office on February 4 this year. This was part of a community order made by Tameside Magistrates Court on September 28, 2023.

Adamson, of Rawcliffe Avenue, Bolton, was ordered to pay a total of £180. Domestic violence order A man was fined after breaching a domestic violence order. Ryan Phillips, 32, admitted to Manchester Magistrates Court that he had breached the order the March this year.

The domestic violence order had been made by the same court that same day. Phillips, of Woodvale Avenue, Bolton was fined £50..
