Speaker releases two Parliamentarians to NIB for investigations

Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has agreed to the National Intelligence Bureau’s (NIB) request to release Mustapha Yussif and Kwame Asare Obeng (A Plus), two Members of Parliament (MPs), for investigation. In a letter signed by the Clerk to Parliament, Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, the Speaker acknowledged the constitutional limitations and security protocols but approved the request. “Parliament, in principle, agrees to the request in the above matter,” the letter stated.

The MPs have been directed to appear before NIB officials for a preliminary interaction on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Sir Emmanuel Charles Quist Conference Room in Parliament.
