Prayagraj : In order to regulate the flow of devotees arriving to offer prayers to the pious Akshayavat tree (Akshayvat corridor) along with Saraswati Koop, the Mela police have chalked out a plan to ensure the entry of visitors in batches inside the Akshayvat corridor during Maha Kumbh, beginning Jan 13. Mela police have also decided to deploy additional police forces at all corridors situated on the Mela campus, including the Lord Hanuman corridor, Akshayvat corridor, and Nagbasuki temple, to regulate the flow of devotees during the 45 days of Maha Kumbh. Focus has been laid on crowd management at prominent temples and corridors in and around the Mela area.

SSP (Kumbh) Rajesh Dwivedi said, "Due to capacity limitations, Mela police would be sending batches of devotees into the Akshayavat corridor during Maha Kumbh so that devotees do not face inconvenience." He, however, said, "The decision is yet to be taken on the closure of the Akshayvat corridor on the occasion of all six main snan days." SSP, meanwhile, said, "As there is enough space inside the Lord Hanuman corridor, devotees would be offering prayers to Lord Hanuman hassle-free, and adequate police forces would be stationed to regulate the flow of the crowd.
