SOUTHWICK — In the ongoing effort to tackle the problems caused by overuse of the North Pond Conservation Area and to have the property comply with the conservation restriction placed on it by the state, the Conservation Commission approved a land management plan during its meeting Monday. The members of the commission adopted the plan unanimously without discussing its details. The plan, which was drafted by Commission Coordinator Sabrina Pooler, is not only a guide to help meet the terms of the state’s conservation restriction, but has also been used as a tool for the task force created by the Select Board to develop solutions to reopen the property.

The conservation area has been closed to visitors since July because of continued misuse..
