Hat-trick hero Tashi-Jay Kwayie fired Faversham to a home win against Snodland that moved them a point from the Southern Counties East Premier Division summit on Saturday. While Kane Philips put Snodland in front on 38 minutes at Salters Lane, Kwayie promptly levelled through a penalty, which came only two minutes later. He then struck twice in four second-half minutes to earn a 3-1 victory for Tommy Warrilow’s troops.
Overall, Kwayie leads the way on 19 goals for the campaign. Town made the most of a slip-up by leaders VCD, who drew 2-2 at home to Corinthian, needing a stoppage-time goal to even earn a point. All the goals came after the interval as Lorenzo Duncan and Henry Arnold had seemingly put Michael Golding’s men on the way to a win.
But substitute Michael Fenn pulled one back for the Vickers with 15 minutes left and Ollie Freeman got a 94th-minute equaliser. They are a point ahead of Faversham, having played a league fixture more than them. Goals from Jack Barry and Wayne Bushell sandwiched Adam Turton’s first-half strike as Punjab edged to a 2-1 victory at Bearsted.
Away captain Steve Ratcliff was dismissed for Chipie Sian’s side before Billy Lewins was dismissed in stoppage time for the Bears. Fellow Premier Division play-off occupants Larkfield & New Hythe beat Hollands & Blair, who ended with nine men, 1-0 at home. Winger Harrison Carnegie got the game’s sole goal on the stroke of half-time before Jay Wade, and then Ross Ibbertson, were dismissed.
Glebe were 2-1 home winners against Whitstable. Marcus Travers and Reggie Rye had them in control in 16 minutes and, although attacking midfielder Josh Oliver pulled one back for Jamie Coyle’s team just after the break, it wasn’t enough for them. Kennington drew 1-1 at Fisher, being pegged back after an early goal by Kimsley Gatakata.
Mid-table Rusthall came from behind to see off Lydd - surprise strugglers in the division - 2-1 at the Jockey Farm Stadium. Matt Astle put the Lydders in front in 13 minutes, only for Yassin Fares and Jack Kirby to turn it around after the restart. Lordswood are just outside of the Premier Division relegation zone on goal difference as they lost 2-1 at home to Holmesdale despite a second-half own goal.
