Sources put Thomas Tuchel on blast for Kim Min-jae’s second half slump at Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich center-back Kim Min-jae came to Germany as a heralded defender but suffered through a second half slump thanks to fatigue, wear-and-tear type injuries, and a bout of poor form. One of the reasons that Kim struggled appeared to be that former head coach Thomas Tuchel ran him into the ground, while the defender also had a heavy schedule for South Korea. Now, though, Sport Bild journalists Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl have put out a report stating that an “internal analysis” at Bayern Munich determined that it was really Tuchel’s poor communication that helped cause Kim’s drop in performance (as captured by @iMiaSanMia ): Bayern are planning with Kim Min-jae.

Vincent Kompany wants to work with the Korean defender. During the internal analysis, Bayern came to the conclusion that Kim needs a bit more communication, dialogue and support in order to perform, which was lacking under Thomas Tuchel. Of all of the odd reports, throwing dirt on the grave of Tuchel weeks after he collected his severance and sauntered out the door is a bit weird.

..even for Bayern Munich.

Min-jae has been listed as potential option to be sold, but this report makes it appear that the Bavarians are going to give the defender another chance to assert himself in Bavaria.
