Sophia Bush provided an update on the status of the recently teased One Tree Hill reboot. If you missed it, last month it was announced that Netflix is developing a spinoff of the series, which she and costar Hilarie Burton are expected to appear in and executive produce. While fans are very excited about the news, Sophia explained that nothing was “official” quite yet.

During an episode of her Drama Queens podcast, Sophia said that the whole development process was a secret so she could not share many details. “What I can say is that after, God, close to half a decade of these conversations, we’ve been able to all sort of divide and conquer in the coolest way. And those of us with TV producing experience are having some really exciting conversations,” she said, via People .
The actress added that conversations with fans over the years had made her even more intrigued in the idea of revisiting the beloved TV series. “So I think that’s all I can say on this podcast, but I do hope we have exciting updates, and I hope we get great news, and we have a big announcement,” she said. She continued, addressing the news leaking out ahead of schedule: “Do I wish that the news hadn’t leaked before we could announce it was official? Sure.
But if it happens, I will be so freaking proud, much like we said, that every single person gets to bring their expertise to the table now.” Sophia also commended the cast for all that they had accomplished over the years, saying that they could bring a lot to the table with a new series.
