Congress parliamentary party chairperson Sonia Gandhi termed the Waqf (amendment) Bill as a ‘brazen assault’ on the constitution on Thursday. She also stated, “The bill was in effect bulldozed through.” She addressed the bill as BJP’s deliberate strategy to keep the society in a state of permanent polarization.

While addressing Congress MPs at a meeting of the Congress Parliamentary Party in Samvidhan Sadan, Sonia has strongly criticised the One Nation , One Election Bill, describing it as another attempt of BJP to weaken the constitutional framework.
