A sunny Monday with high temperatures in the 60s across Central Florida will lead into an overnight chill that will see temperatures fall into the 30s across parts of the region, according to the Naitonal Weather Service in Melbourne. Higher chances for frost are in place for portions of north Lake and interior Volusia County where the lows could reach the mid 30s while the rest of Central Florida will hit the upper 30s to mid 40s. The north winds of 10-15 mph and gusts of 20-25 mph are making maximum temperatures about 10 degrees below normal, the NWS stated.
“Tonight, expect cold conditions, as one of the coldest night so far this season is forecast,” forecasters said. “Clear skies and low humidity will allow for radiative cooling, plunging the overnight lows” and “Northerly winds around 5-10 mph coupled with these cool temperatures will produce wind chill values well into the 30s across the interior, and upper 30s to low 40s across the coast for several hours.” High pressure over the deep South of the U.
S. will continue to move southeast, forecasters said, and its center will be over Florida by mid-week meaning more cool and dry air with some windy conditions. “Temperatures will remain cooler than normal for this time of year, with afternoon highs on Tuesday in the upper 50s to low 60s across the north, and low to mid 60s across the south,” forecasters said.
“Temperatures will warm slightly on Wednesday, with afternoon highs in the upper 60s to low 70s.” The overnight lows on Tuesday into Wednesday, though, could be even colder..
