Some areas burned in the Bridge Fire will be closed for over a year

Angeles National Forest officials have announced closures that are set to last until Dec. 31, 2025, to give scorched land enough time to recover from the Bridge Fire. As of Monday morning, the wildfire that began earlier this month had burned 54,877 acres and was 71% contained.

Fifty one Angeles National Forest campgrounds, picnic areas, trails, roads and other facilities will be part of the closures. Popular hiking trails in Mt. Baldy and Wrightwood are also among the closures.



Some groups are exempt from the closure, including those who own or live on private land in the Bridge Fire area. Also exempt are Caltech employees or students who are currently assigned to a NASA-JPL program facility. For a full list of exemptions and closures, check here .
