New Delhi: Solo Levelling- which alternatively translates to ‘Only I Level Up’- is a South Korean Web Novel based on the concept of portal fantasy. was written by Chugong. Its serialization began on July 25th, 2016, and was later published by D&C Media under their Papyrus label on November 4, 2016.
A webtoon adaptation of Solo Leveling was first serialized in KakaoPage on March 4, 2018, it was illustrated by Jang Sung-rak (Dubu) and the webtoon’s first season concluded on March 19, 2020, followed by its second season, which was released from August 2020 to December 2021. As of June 2024, Solo Levelling’s chapters were collected and bundled into 11 volumes. An anime television series adaptation produced by A-1 Pictures aired from January to March 2024.
A second season, Arise from the Shadow, is set to premiere in the winter of January 2025. Solo Levelling garnered love from fans not only from the region of Korea, but also from lovers of web novels and anime alike, the novel garnered love for its portrayal of characters’ power levels, and the neatly woven plotline of fantasy elements adding to a thrill of action and adventure.
