Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, on Wednesday, said that strengthening the solid minerals sector will lessen the country’s reliance on oil. Nwifuru stated this at Amaopara community in the Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State while commissioning projects executed for natives in the area by Dolf Global Resources. He noted that Nigeria will develop more if it does take concrete steps to harness the potential of its solid minerals sector.
Nwifuru represented by his Brother Fidelis Nwifuru lauded the mining firm for the gesture, maintaining that as nations grapple with the challenges of dwindling oil assets and prepare to shift focus to renewable energy, stakeholders should pay adequate attention to strategies geared towards strengthening their solid minerals sector. He thanked the people of Amaopara for providing a peaceful and cordial atmosphere for investors in the area, noting that it is touching for a company to deem it necessary to build houses for members of the host community. Speaking earlier, the Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Chidi Onyia, noted that the proactive position of the government over mining has created a win-win situation for both miners and the host communities.
He commended the CEO of Dolf Global Resources, Mr Donald, Nnadi for the milestone. Nnadi, the Managing Director of Dolf Global Resources, said his company was determined to fulfil all the agreements reached with the host community, adding he was duly following the provisions of the Mining Act. He thanked the state government for providing the enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
