Softball: RCW edged in its opener, 3-2

WALNUT GROVE — The Renville County West softball team lost its season-opener Friday to Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove, 3-2.RRC/WWG scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning.The Falcons’ Natasha Wahl singled on a line drive to right field, scoring Kennedy Carter.

The winning hit came with runners on first and second and no outs in the bottom of the seventh.For RCW, Shelby Allex went 2-for-2 with a double, two walks and a run. Mackenna Hinderks was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for the Jaguars.



Hinderks also took the complete-game loss. She struck out 13, walked four and allowed eight hits and three earned runs.RRC has a doublehead scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.
