In line with plans for a return to the top flight, Marumo Gallants are working on finalising their preparations, with the appointment of a new coach believed to be on the club’s agenda now. On Thursday, Gallants confirmed that the PSL approved their acquisition of Moroka Swallows’ top flight status following successful negotiations between the parties. The Limpopo outfit also confirmed that the team’s home games for the upcoming season will be played in Bloemfontein.

With the club expected to finalise with the technical team and players, Siya sources have confirmed that Chippa United co-coach Kwanwele Kopo has emerged as a transfer target for Gallants. Since January, Kopo has been working as a co-coach for the Chilli Boys alongside Thabo September and the duo has been lauded for stabilising the team in preparation for the upcoming season. “Marumo Gallants are having plans of appointing a new coach and Kwanele Kopo is one of the coaches whose names have been discussed," said the Siya source.

“For now, it is not clear if he will be available to move from Chippa but you can expect a formal approach to be made for his services,” the source concluded. Meanwhile, Elasto Kapowezha who has been a general manager for Swallows has been touted for the same role at Gallants..
