A manager in Europe has had his deal terminated after suffering a heavy defeat in the UEFA Champions League this week. Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb have confirmed the departure of head coach Sergej Jakirovic following the team's humiliating 9-2 loss to Bayern Munich on Tuesday. Despite the Blues pulling two goals back to make the score 3-2 early in the second half, a defensive collapse helped the Bavarians strike six times between the 57th minute and the final whistle.

In a statement on the club’s official website, Zagreb confirmed Jakirovic’s exit by way of a mutual termination of his deal. "Dinamo hereby wishes to inform the public that an amicable termination of the contract has been agreed with the current coach of the Blues, Sergej Jakirovic," it read. "The first team will be led in the short term by the current member of the coaching staff, Sandro Perkovic, until a decision on a new long-term coaching solution is made.

" The Blues also thanked the 47-year-old for his efforts, particularly for his role in the team’s league triumph last season, and wished him the best for the future..
