A former AC Milan striker has officially joined forces with Rulani Mokwena's Wydad Athletic Club. Senegal international M'Baye Niang has been confirmed as the Red Castle's newest acquisition. The record Botola Pro Inwi champions were rumoured to be in the market for a foreign striker, with Tanzania international Clement Mzize having been heavily linked with a move to Casablanca.

However, while they await an official response from Young Africans regarding their latest offer, it seems the north African giants have been proactive in recruiting other forwards, having welcomed the French-born marksman to the club. Niang has previously plied his trade in some of the world's best leagues, having played for the Rossoneri in Serie A, Watford in the Premier League as well as Bordeaux, Stade Rennais, Montpellier and Auxerre in France's Ligue 1. Most recently, the 15-cap Senegal international finished the 2023/24 season playing in Italy with Empoli, for whom he scored six goals and provided one assist in the 14 matches he played.

He has now seemingly called time on his European adventure for the time being to play his football under the former Mamelodi Sundowns tactician in Casablanca..
