Kaizer Chiefs have provided an update on five of the club's injured players including star midfielder Gaston Sirino. While the recent FIFA break brought about an abrupt halt to Chiefs' early momentum to the season, it can be seen as a blessing in disguise for the club, particularly where their injured players are concerned. Chiefs currently have five players sidelined with injury, namely Gaston Sirino, Brandon Petersen, George Matlou, Edmilson Dove and Tebogo Potsane, all of whom are sidelined with varying ailments.

Perhaps the most crucial of those is Sirino. The Uruguayan has been inspirational for Nasreddine Nabi's side since joining at the start of the season. The club's physio Dave Milner confirmed that the 33-year-old is recovering from injury.

“Gaston Sirino sustained an abductor muscle injury in the last match and he is improving nicely and we expect him to be back in full training within two weeks,” he told Chiefs' official website. "Another player progressing well is George Matlou. He has started running and doing some ball work and we are looking at a November return for him,“ he added.

"Potsane went for a scan which showed some ligament damage, so we expect him to be out for around three weeks. “Edmilson Dove is out of the protective boot and is doing some preliminary walking. We are confident he will be able to start running in November.

“Brandon (Petersen) had the pins removed from his finger and can start full training immediately," he added..
